Reporting to Gard’s Head of P&I Casualty Claims, Per Martin Langaas, Matt Moore is expected to further elevate Gard's global claims operations. His background includes a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton, experience as a partner with a leading English law firm specialising in admiralty law, and a series of senior claims leadership roles in the North/NorthStandard P&I clubs.
Langaas commented: “We are delighted that Matt has chosen to join Gard. He brings with him extensive casualty handling experience, including the capsizing off Brunswick, Georgia in 2019 of the Golden Ray, one of the largest P&I claims ever. I very much look forward to what Matt will add to our already experienced claims organisation.”
Moore expressed his enthusiasm about the new role, stating: “I very much look forward to working with Gard in this position. Gard has a strong reputation for its swift and effective casualty response and the handling of large and complex claims. I hope the claims handling and claims leadership experience I have gained over the past thirty years will add value to the Gard team.”
Moore starts in his new role with Gard effective 3 March 2025.
