In his capacity as the CEO of Wilh. Wilhlemsen ASA he was elected member of the Committee of Assuranceforeningen Gard in 1995 and became Chairman in 1998. He retired from the Committee in 2004.
Succeeding high profile shipowners and Committee Chairmen such as Ran Hettena and Erik F. Johnsen, both whom were based in the United States, Leif Terje Løddesøl was the Committee’s first Norwegian Chairman.
He played a key role in the successful transformation of Gard from a monoline mutual, as it was at the end of the 1990s into the diversified P&I, Marine and Energy insurance group it is today.
We are immensely grateful for his contribution to Gard during his lifetime and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
