Cami's passion for maritime law began early, sparked by a shipwreck she experienced at just five years old. It was also nurtured by growing up with a father who worked in the maritime industry.
“Growing up around the shipping industry helped me fall in love with maritime at an early age, but my last five years working and studying maritime have solidified that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life,” said Cami.
She later attended undergraduate studies at American University, where she gained valuable experience interning with the maritime lobbying firm Waterways Council, Inc. in Washington, DC. She later joined Kirby Corporation in Houston, Texas, as a public government affairs analyst before beginning her law school journey. During her first summer at Tulane, Cami completed a secondment in London, spending time in and around Lloyd's, learning about the London insurance market. That experience inspired her to write a paper on the war risk insurance market – a paper that ended up winning her this year’s law student writing competition.
