Special Non-Tank Circular No. 1/99 January 2000
TO NON-TANK MEMBERS
Dear Sirs,
We refer to Circular No. 21/99 where Members were advised that the Association had arrangements in place with NRC/Clean Pacific Alliance and MPA (for the services of MSRC) whereby non-tank Members could list these organisations as OSROs free of charge in California oil spill contingency plans.
Members are advised that the Association's OSRO arrangements also are valid throughout the United States. Thus, non-tank Members preparing additional oil spill contingency plans relating to the US may be able to take advantage of the Association's arrangements. Members should bear in mind that the Association's arrangements only provide Members with the opportunity to name either or both of these OSROs in their contingency plans. The associated costs of actually using an OSRO in an oil spill are for the Member's account in the first instance, as per the P&I Rules. However, OSRO costs remain subject to reimbursement under the terms of the Member's P&I cover.
Members interested in using this added service must complete and return a special form to the Association. The form can be obtained from the Association on request.
Yours faithfully, ASSURANCEFORENINGEN GARD -gjensidig-
John G. Bernander Managing Director
