Dear Sirs,

Y2K CONTINGENCY PLANS - CONTACT PERSONS AND NUMBERS

In the event of a casualty requiring the urgent assistance of the Association on 31st December and 1st January Members are advised of the following primary contact persons and numbers:

Head Office, Arendal

As usual the catastrophe telephone + 47 90 52 41 00 will be manned on a 24 hour basis and should be used by Members and Correspondents in the event of an incident requiring the urgent assistance of the Association. The person responsible for this service will be Senior Claims Executive Gunnar Espeland. He will be assisted by Senior Manager Jan Jacobsen (Casualty, Environmental & Property), Senior Claims Executive Ole Enge (Casualty, Environmental & Property) and Claims Adjuster Pål Berglund (Personal Injury & Crew). They will all be within 30 minutes of the Head Office in Arendal.

In the event that the catastrophe telephone should fail the following numbers can be called:

The Head Office has its own power generator should the local power supply fail. The Association?s dedicated contingency room will be up and running throughout the critical period. Personnel from the IT and maintenance departments will also be on duty in order to assist should any unexpected error occur on the equipment/software side. All systems have been tested according to BSI PD 2000-1 standard and are deemed to be Y2K compliant.

If you should fail in contacting the Head Office in Arendal, any one of the subsidiary offices will be able to assist you in organising responses in the event of casualties where Gard assistance is required.
